2nd Annual Day After Thanksgiving Jamie and Hailey (and Katie and Cindy) Shopping Extravaganza

Just like last year Hailey and I decided that we were going to venture out on Black Friday. Last year we didn't leave McMinn County until the late afternoon. This year we decided that we were going to do this right. My sister and our friend Cindy decided that they wanted to join in on the fun, so we made a plan. We were leaving at 4 AM! 4 AM?!? Yep, that's right. Katie decided that she would rather spend the night on my couch then wake up the parents at 3 something in the morning, so here we were, up and ready at 3 something in the morning. Hailey came to my house and we were on our way to Cindy's house to pick her up.

We soon arrived at Turkey Creek at 5:00! I'm pretty sure we were parked in one of the very last parking spaces in Farragut, but that was a-okay! We ventured in to Wal-Mart only to see thousands of people already fighting over DVDs, CDs, video games, toys, you name it, they were fighting over it. It was hilarious! I went over to find a Celine Dion CD and Michael Jackson's greatest hits on sale for $5! Kate insisted that I buy both of them! I went over to look at the DVDs, and Kate was cheering me on..."Come on, Jamie! You can do it!" (I appreciate your encouragement, Kate!) :) Anyway, so we traveled farther into the store. Cindy picked out some things for Isaac; Hailey found some pajamas that she bought for herself that she said that Jonathan could wrap and say that they were from him; and Katie just looked around. I found a super cool pink vacuum cleaner for $25 that I just had to have. We had a blast fighting through the crowds and finally checking out! We finally made our way back to the car to pack our things away and prepare for the crowds at Target.

Before we made our way to Target we decided that we needed some nourishment! We went to Chik-fil-A for some little drops of heaven, and for those of you who don't know what those are, those are chicken minis- chicken nuggets on a Sister Schubert roll. OH MY GOSH! AMAZING! After finding a parking place at Starbucks to go to Target, we realize that Katie's chicken biscuit is missing, so back to Chik-fil-A we go. So, we finally find another parking spot, still at Starbucks, eat our food, and make our way to the very long line outside of Target. Woo!

Lots of people, lots of stuff. None of us really had a list of things we needed, so it was a lot of fun just looking for the things that were on sale. I got five new movies that I'm pretty excited about- "Christmas Vacation" being one of them!!! After Target we headed over to Belk where Cindy got a really good deal on something and I bought a hot pink Christmas tree!! Next we went out to Cedar Bluff to Staples only to encounter an extremely rude elf that Hailey thought about giving the Jake Bull face punch to.

Katie mentioned Cracker Barrell after that, so that's where we ended up. The Holiday Breakfast Sampler was the meal of the morning for 75% of us. I settled on my usual eggs in a basket (my favorite)! After some excellent food and some very philosophical conversation we left to find a Hallmark store. We spent I don't know how long in that store opening up every card that played music! We found so many hilarious cards! I wish I could have bought every one of them! Next we walked down the sidewalk to Victoria's Secret to get the supermodel bag with all kinds of good stuff inside it! We decided that it was now time to go south!

Katie slept all the way home, and I was begging for Hailey to tell me stories to keep me awake! We dropped Cindy off with all of her goodies, and then we had to go to Ingles to get Katie her cookie cake for her birthday (that was 2 days ago) and stuff for our party later that night (what were we thinking planning a game night on the day that we all got up at 3 in the morning? why?). After we finally got home and got all of our things unpacked out of the car, Katie went home, Hal went home, and I went to my couch!

After a 3 hour nap I was ready for game night at Eric and Cindy's! We had a great time playing my new Trivial Pursuit Pop Culture edition (well, everyone hated it, but I think we were just all really tired). Isaac was a ton of fun, Katie and Hailey slept, and Samuel and I won the game! Yeah! What a super day!

As for today, I had a whole lot of nothing planned! The Vols won in 4 overtimes! SEC East Champs! Another good day! GO VOLS!
